Sturt’s Desert Peas
Limited edition prints of my coloured pencil illustration. Since moving to Alice Springs I have loved watching these flowers pop up around town - in gardens, overgrown verges, carpark corners and roadside stops.
For this illustration I used a reference photo from Justin Smith @imagery_smith
My favourite part of this drawing, and what caught my eye in the reference photo is the way the sunlight hits the petals. It creates a delightful colour change and shows just how thin and delicate the petals are.
